Emil Martinez has been appointed Executive Vice President of Sales at Intelligent Clearing Network (ICN), a next-generation promotion management company for implementing direct to card, digital, trade, paper, mobile and email programs.
In this role, he will use his veteran experience and consultative approach to head up the overall sales effort as well as working closely with current and new retail accounts in the grocery, drug and mass channels, said Gary Oakley, chairman and CEO of ICN.
Martinez, whose resume includes several decades of work as a senior executive with SymphonyIRI Group, The NPD Group and The Nielsen Company, said, I understand and I am energized by the industrys need to engage their shoppers in a more consistent, substantive promotional dialogue and I look forward to offering competitive differentiation to our retailer partners through ICNs innovative promotion management platform solution.
Emil expressed his passion for Shopper Activation and his desire to help educate retailers about how ICNs single connection to the POS can help them solve a multitude of promotion issues, including — but not limited to — coupon mis/mal redemption, deal stacking, targeted marketing and fraud prevention. ICN tracks each promotion (digital or paper) at the retailers point of sale, ensuring that the correct manufacturers promotional plan is executed against the right manufacturers products within the designated promotional period.
His most recently-held position at SymphonyIRI was Executive Vice President and GM – Retail Client Solutions where he led the firms retail practice, including sales, service, marketing and product management and was an integral part of the shopper collaboration strategy.
Prior to that post, he was Senior VP & COO of IRI Retail. His background includes senior positions with NPD, ACNielsen, UCCNet, Allergan and the TJ Lipton Company.
Martinez holds a BA from Fairfield University and resides in New Hope, Pa.
