Winchester, Hampshire, UK (PRWEB UK) 26 April 2012
Leading IT testing company JAR Technologies has appointed Winchester-based Nohau UK to distribute its network emulation product range throughout the UK and Ireland. JAR Technologies, based in Belfast, specialises in WAN emulation across the application development, testing and deployment phases. The Shamrock series of WAN emulators can accurately simulate all the real world conditions across IP networks from the safety, control and repeatability of a test environment. Nohau UK has an outstanding reputation and we look forward to working closely with them in the future. Over a period of many years Nohau UK have consistently demonstrated strong commitment to the quality assurance and networking industries commented Rick Hunter, CEO of JAR Technologies. The benefits delivered by our award winning solutions married with Nohaus extensive technical capabilities will ensure our customer needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Kevin Pope, General Manager of Nohau UK added Right now many of our customers, rather than adding new features, are focused on improving the quality of their products. The Shamrock range of Network Emulators enhances our existing portfolio of Quality Assurance tools and will help our datacom and telecom industry customers to improve the robustness of their products and reduce the cost of testing.
Customers of JAR Technologies use their emulators for a wide variety of purposes, such as the performance testing of software under realistic end-user network conditions early in the development lifecycle. The early identification of network related problems that would remain hidden until late in development (or worse, when released) significantly reduces costs and protects both professional and corporate reputations. Other uses include pre-deployment testing of new networked technologies, WAN acceleration vendor evaluation and trouble-shooting under exact replicas of end user networks.
All models can emulate any type of IP network (satellite, wireless, terrestrial etc.) at test lab accuracy. Customers can restrict bandwidth, inject jitter, delay, drop and a wide range of other WAN impairments to accurately model the exact network conditions required.
The Shamrock series provides multiple independent emulation links that can be tailored to users exact requirements through a simple drag and drop graphical interface. Open XML protocol ensures full integration with automated testing. Application performance can be examined via a real time reporting suite, traffic analysers, traffic record/playback and advanced filtering.
The Shamrock 100/2 unit provides precision emulation for users who require up to 100Mb of throughput (bi-directionally) for their emulations. Ideal for individual developers and testers, the 100/2 is a 2U rack mountable unit that is easily embedded in testing environments and comes pre-loaded with wizards and network maps so emulation can be undertaken in minutes.
Shamrock 1000 Series
The Shamrock 1,000 series of WAN emulators provide up to 1 Gbps throughput with either 2 or 4 network ports. Their precision hardware and advanced feature sets ensure pinpoint accuracy of emulation and total control over your scenarios parameters. Both models can impair traffic sent across them at full line rate, allowing users to emulate a wide variety of WANs under the realistic conditions known, expected or captured on the target network.
Shamrock 10000 Series
The Shamrock 10,000 series of WAN emulators provide 10 Gbps interfaces with either 2 or 4 network ports to emulate high throughput connections on your LAN. Up to 20 independent emulations can be performed with powerful filtering including IP, VLAN, MPLS etc. available to direct traffic as required. The 10,000 series can be shipped with lower throughput levels for customers who need integration with 10 Gbps interfaces, but who would not need the full line rate available. The 10,000 series is often most applicable to large scale IT implementations, such as data centre relocations, significant networked technology upgrades and so on.
